Accme Letters Of Agreement

In the event of commercial assistance, a written agreement must be concluded before the activity, signed by the commercial interest and the accredited supplier. In order to properly manage the obtaining of financial or in-kind benefits from a commercial interest defined by ACCME under the Standard for Commercial Support 3: Appropriate Use of Commercial Support, the provider must understand and apply ACCME`s definition of commercial support. This directive also outlines the requirements of the CMAA with respect to written agreements between accredited suppliers and commercial operators. An accredited supplier can meet the expectations of SCS 3.4 – 3.6 by agreeing to a pre-concluded agreement between an accredited supplier and commercial support and by stating in writing their acceptance of the terms and amount of commercial assistance they will receive. A supplier is found in ScS 1.1 and SCS 3.2 non-compliance when the supplier enters into a commercial support contract in which the commercial support indicates how the supplier meets the certification requirements. For any business that provides commercial support, either a commercial support contract letter for direct sponsorship or a letter of commercial support agreement to common suppliers must be executed and sent to the CME Office prior to the activity.
